The new Google Wallet service is supposed to start today, Techcrunch reports with reference to its own sources and documentation with the launch announcement, which was in the hands of the blog editorial office.

Last week, Google posted an entertaining teaser service Google Wallet . The conclusion is simple: Google Wallet will be launched soon. Now we are sure that we know the deadline for today.

As you can see in the picture, a letter was sent to all partners stating that September 19 is the launch day. Information verified - this is confirmed by our sources. The event coincides extremely well with the start of the International Conference on NFC Technology, which also begins today on the French Riviera. Google has not yet been announced as a speaker at this event, but their main partner, MasterCard, is the official sponsor.

Back in May, when the Google Wallet and Offers were originally introduced, Google announced that field trials for Wallet will begin immediately, but an official launch will follow this summer. Initial forecasts indicated September 1. Technically, in the states, summer lasts until September 22nd, so Google hasn't missed a promise.

Although this will be an official launch, the product itself is most likely still very limited. Only the 4G Nexus S smartphone is currently officially compatible, and it is available only in the United States. Equipment for points of sale is also needed - the situation with it is also not clear. And again, until now, MasterCard is the only official partner among payment systems. Perhaps Google has a solution to these problems - we will learn about it today. But now everything indicates that MasterCard from the Citi banking group is the only type of card currently supported.

The launch today is of great importance to Google, because the start of sales of their next flagship Android smartphone, Nexus Prime, is not far off. It already incorporates NFC technology, which means it will bring the tremendous customer base of Verizon to the Wallet service in particular, and the corporation as a whole.

We are waiting for new lawsuits from PayPal, and we hope that Google will turn out to be quicker with the entry into the CIS market!
