Preparing to launch Levenhuk-1 (part 3)

Sunny days to Habr and its inhabitants!

Meanwhile, our launch, which we already wrote about , will take place the day after tomorrow. A few months of preparation, kilometers of spent nerves and kilograms of destroyed brain cells - all for one day. We really hope that everything goes according to plan, and the game will be worth the candle.

By the way, we start at 11:00 , and not at 9:00, as previously reported. So it's time to register for those who were afraid of an early start.

If everything goes well, a high-quality video report from us. In the meantime, we offer readers boring photos of the creation of several versions of the probe.

    Caution, a lot of photos.

UPD: photos are also duplicated on the project website .

On Saturday morning we gathered in a St. Petersburg planetarium and right in the hall spread almost all of their good.

A parachute was made from such material.

A few meters of such a strong rope will hold the shell with a hardware box.

Our designer designed such a thing for branching the signal - in case of broadcasting the image to the Internet. However, unfortunately, we are still being let down by video capture; we can’t promise the broadcast.

Go-Pro bought extra batteries for our cameras. Now shooting should last 2-3 hours. A strange effect, by the way: with these batteries, the camera does not record sound, but retains only some kind of audio interference.

This size of our ball is in a state of calm. We bought 2, just in case, and 40 liters of helium.

To show the scale: it's the throat of a ball.

It was from such a foam stick that we were told that it is best to make walls: it cuts well, keeps heat well.

On this screen 3x4 meters we will show the projection.

We moved to the apartment of one of the organizers for a trial assembly of the platform and walls.

For the samples, three foam boards were used.

First they applied the necessary components ...

    and cut out the holes.

The walls were glued with a special glue that does not corrode the foam. But not this instance :)

Here work on the finishing version is already beginning.
