On high

In the city of Chelyabinsk there is a wonderful Pipe-Welding Workshop “Height 239” owned by OJSC “Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant” and more than once lit up in the lenses of cameras of Internet users.

But few people know that IBM helped create the asset management, maintenance and repair system involved in the plant. This system was built on the basis of IBM Maximo Asset Management .

The integration of such a product into enterprise management has a very useful feature - compatibility with other enterprise resource planning systems ( ERP ) and production and executive systems ( MES ), various products for accounting and management accounting.

The use of such a system has a huge impact on the daily existence of serious production, such as “Altitude 239” (which by the way is the height of the workshop above sea level), which is part of the ChTPZ industrial complex - among the ten largest pipe companies. High-quality equipment of the German company SMS MEER is installed throughout the complex, and therefore the high standard is set for the software used in the enterprise.

Since it is always very important to effectively monitor the process and the result of production, the procurement system is automatically controlled in the workshop (conclusion of contracts, electronic execution, cost control), which is designed to achieve a common goal - the competent regulation of the spare parts reserve. The system developed by IBM simplifies the viewing of calendar plans to find the optimal equipment shutdown time and makes it easier to take into account the downtime of the units in the analysis of supplies, as well as its impact on the quality and lead time.

The result of all this was the effective localization of emergencies before they lead to serious disruptions affecting product quality.
