Probably everyone listens to music on the Internet, most of them use VKontakte, or services based on its music base. All existing free services have various disadvantages, which were not in the now paid simple player. And I had the idea to create not just another simple player with a VKontakte base, but one that everyone can put on their hosting.

Online players have two main problems: no music or poor usability (no playlists, awkward search, etc.). In simple player, all this was, therefore, when developing, I was guided by it.

The main features of the player

• Search. The search is carried out through VKontakte, respectively, all the music that can be found VKontakte can be found here.
  
• Simple authorization. Authorization is optional and is only needed to access your playlists. Login and registration are not disconnected, that is, during authorization, the presence of a user in the database is checked, if there is none, it is created. Password is optional.
  
• Playlists. Playlists are available only to authorized users on the site. They are needed to group your music.
  
• Drag & Drop. Convenient player control through drag & drop.
  
• Social integration. You can share your favorite (or not liked) track with your friends on VKontakte, Facebook and Twitter.
  
• Link to the track. You can also share a track by simply copying the link to it and sending it in any available way (jabber, icq , email).
  
• Recommendations Based on the music users listened to, a database of recommendations is formed that tells you what else you can listen to.
  

There are even advantages

• Decentralization. Everyone can install Open Player on their LAMP hosting without any restrictions from the player.
  
• Free and open. The project is completely free for both users and those who want to install it for themselves. It is distributed “as is”. If necessary, it is easy to modify for yourself.
  

To raise a mirror, you don’t need a music database, the entire search is carried out through VKontakte, and music content is taken from there, by and large it is an add-on over VKontakte, with playlists and a convenient interface.

PS This is the first version of the player, there are probably bugs, if the idea goes, I will develop it further.
