Fake Google+ invitations used to steal bank information

Some users from Portugal recently received an approximately similar email. This letter is a fake invitation to the Google+ social network, the mass mailing of which has recently been recorded by Kaspersky Lab experts. The letter contained two links: to google *****. Redirectme.net and to a document in Google Docs. By clicking on the first one, the download of the previously known Trojan Banker program, designed to steal user information related to banking systems, electronic money systems and plastic cards, began. The second link contained a document in which there was a fake form offering to enter the mail addresses of your friends and invite them. Thus, the trojan is equipped with a reliable distribution channel.
So the situation is commented by Fabio Assolini, an expert at Kaspersky Lab:
“Attackers often play on human curiosity and credulity. In this case, the victim herself follows a malicious link, infecting her computer. If you want to join the Google+ network, be on the alert and open letters only from your friends with whom you agreed in advance on such an invitation. ”
Fortunately, no such cases have been registered in Russia yet. But caution never gets in the way.
