Review matte laptop HP 620. Price! Quality!
A few years ago, in order to introduce my mother to the Internet, I gave her a netbook. Just at that time, they were gaining popularity and attractively cost. Recently, my mother complained to me that she was very uncomfortable working with him, because the screen is too small, the text is poorly read. I constantly had to strain my eyesight. Indeed, with age, vision is no longer that, and I want the letters to be larger and the eyes not so tired. It was decided to find an inexpensive and practical laptop with a large screen. Having accidentally discovered the HP 620 with a matte case and a screen for 11,500 rubles, I realized this is what I need!

For such a ridiculous price for a laptop (not a netbook!) I did not expect to get such a quality product. HP really surprised me.

Features HP 620 XN590EA:
Inside the familiar 2nd core processor from Intel, Celeron Dual Core with a frequency of 1900 MHz. This power will be enough for the modern Internet, office tasks, listening to music and watching HD movies. Of course, there is no talk of games, because this is a completely different class.

It is matte! Almost completely, the entire surface is matte and has a textural surface that is pleasant to the touch.

The only place is the bezel of the keyboard, which treacherously shines and shows your fingerprints. The quality of the plastic is good. There is no feeling that it is easy to scratch it or that it will crack from a slight blow. No prints, only a rough surface.

The laptop has typical sizes (371x249x27 mm). There are no roundings and roundness, strict office design. Weight is not so big - 2.4 kg.

On the front panel are a card reader and jacks for connecting headphones and a microphone.

On the left side there is a ventilation grill, D-Sub for connecting a monitor, power, RJ-45 for network, HDMI for outputting pictures to TV, USB 2.0 and ExpressCard 34.

To our right is the DVD-RW drive, the useless DialUp modem and 2 USB 2.0 connectors for anyone.

The battery occupies the entire back side. The bottom of the laptop is made of typical rough black plastic. It seems that to open the cover completely, just unscrew 4 screws.

The only speaker is located above the keyboard under the metal grill. Compared to other laptops, HP clearly loses in sound quality and volume. But for my mother there wasn’t much difference what kind of sound there.

It is also dull! The screen size is 15.6 inches. There is a LED LED backlight, resolution 1366x768. There is enough brightness, the angles are good.

As they say the difference on the face!

The maximum opening angle is not the largest.

The camera for video calls with a resolution of 2 megapixels has a pretty nice picture, while working next to a white indicator. To the right is a microphone.

The keyboard is similar to an island: there are small gaps between the keys. All characters are white. Russian letters are less, but read well.

On the left are multimedia keys that will greatly simplify the use of a laptop. Ctrl in its place.

Disabling wireless networks and sound have separate keys and the user does not have to bend his fingers while holding down Fn and function keys. If Wi-Fi is on, the indicator on the key glows white, if it is off, it glows orange.

Caps Lock has a white glowing indicator.

The touchpad is large enough, has a rough surface. There is multi-touch, the buttons are pleasantly pressed.

A traditional keyboard deflection test. Nothing bends or crunches.

The battery is held on by 2 latches when pressed, on which it pops out of the laptop. The battery capacity is 4090 mAh, although 4400 mAh is written everywhere.

Internet surfing and average backlight will put the battery in 2.5 hours.

Charging is standard for laptops and does not take up much space.

At the end of the wire there is a rubber holder with which you can conveniently fix the wire.

Near the charging connector is a white indicator, indicating that charging is in progress. With a weak battery, it lights up in orange.

In general, in a laptop, all indicators are very correctly made: they are not bright, they shine with a pleasant white or orange light and do not distract attention. The only thing I could not find is an indicator of hard drive activity.

Today, a laptop carrying bag is a rather rare gift from manufacturers. And here for such a low cost, they give a quality branded bag from HP as a gift!

The bag has carrying handles and a shoulder strap that can be folded.

Inside 2 compartments, which are separated by a soft partition. You can put a laptop, charging and 2 more netbooks fit.

The lack of Windows favorably affected the price. Instead, it is SUSE Linux. When you turn it on for the first time, it takes 15 minutes to install the system, in which you will be asked to specify the main parameters. After installation, everything works right out of the box, you don’t have to climb the forums to put the right program. There are a bunch of different applications, various office programs and games.

Installing Windows is not a problem - on the HP website there are drivers for all devices.
The BIOS is also made in the style of HP: nice white tones, the touchpad works.

I really liked this laptop. It has many advantages: price, matte case and screen, 320 GB hard drive, HDMI, there is a drive, HP style, bluetooth, a good keyboard, there is a bag. Of the shortcomings - this is a rather weak sound. For such a price, we get a quality product from HP, which is not a shame to put on the table, unlike competitors in this price segment (eMachines, Lenovo). A convenient bag will allow you to carry a laptop with you to the country. HDMI will simplify connection to the TV, a matte screen will facilitate viewing in the open. The HP 620 is a very balanced notebook that easily finds its user.
