Thanks to the fast work of one of the members of the Canonical design team, Paul Sladen, the Ubuntu font is now available for use in Google Docs for everyone, regardless of operating system.

A bug report was sent to the Ubuntu Font Family project with a wish from Brent Fox with the text “Please add the Ubuntu font to Google Docs”, and in less than two hours, Paul replied that the font will be in Google Docs. Sumptuously!

The Ubuntu Canonical font was commissioned by the London-based company Dalton Maag . It is available in several flavors, including light, italics, bold, and Cyrillic, and is licensed under a Creative Commons license so anyone can use it.

You can download the Ubuntu font and learn more at font.ubuntu.com and try it out on Google Docs .
