Replacing Images on Times Square Monitors with iPhone

Today I came across this video - it looks quite impressive, although to be honest, I really want to say that the fake. If you can still close your eyes to the fact that the magic transmitter is inserted into the headphone jack (after all, there is a square ), then the appearance of this guy on the back-stop monitor at 0:35 second is already quite difficult to explain ...

The principle of the device is also explained enough foggy (translation of the author’s comment on the YouTube video):

The device works quite simply: insert my transmitter into iPhone 4 and start playing any clip (you can play your clips recorded through the camera or select a clip downloaded via iTunes before). The transmitter sends the playing video to the repeater (repeater) and the repeater, in turn, changes the picture on any screen that is nearby. The size and shape of the screen do not matter - the picture coming from the repeater will retain its original proportions, the remaining space on the screen will fill with black.

I chose Times Square to demonstrate the device because of the huge number of monitors in this place. It is also one of the most protected places in New York, which adds special interest to the whole process :). As you can see from my video, the repeater is quite powerful, but the signal coming from it is not very stable yet. I'm working on it. Soon I will post a new video where I will explain in more detail how I made this prototype.

UPDATE: As correctly noted in the comments, the video was just launched on the screens at the same time as the picture on the iPhone. Thus, the creators tried to draw attention to the new film of their studio Limitless (Field of Darkness).
