imageAfter two years of development, and six months after the beta version of the program was released, the Ignite Realtime community finally presented the long-awaited release of the OpenFire 3.7.0 Jabber server to the public . The updated version, as usual, contains a lot of new "features", fixed bugs and improvements.

Here are the most significant of them:
  • Openfire is licensed under Apache 2.0 .
  • Improved OpenFire work with idle connections.
  • OpenFire caching has become less memory-hungry, the cache size is calculated more correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where it was impossible to log in as an administrator to a freshly installed OpenFire console until the server was restarted.
  • Fixed a bug with displaying statuses for users of the shared roster if the server is configured to work with LDAP.
  • Fixed memory leak in PEP.
  • Changed logging interface.
  • A number of issues with self-signed SSL certificates have been fixed.
  • Some improvements and fixes on the Multi-User Chat (MUC) page of the admin console.
  • Some improvements have affected existing plugins. In addition, a new Jingle Nodes plugin has appeared .
  • There are some corrections in French, Russian and Lithuanian translations of the program interface and some plugins.
A complete list of changes from the previous release 3.6.4 can be found here . It also contains descriptions of 11 bugs fixed after the beta version was released.

I’ll add from myself that I finally waited for the fix of the bug with shared roster that existed since 2006, was repeatedly discussed in many forums, but had no solution.
