World premieres from Sony Ericsson: Xperia neo, Xperia pro and Xperia PLAY
The biggest industry event, Mobile Word Congress , is starting today in Barcelona , and the day before, as promised , Sony Ericsson announced three of its latest products at a traditional pre-launch press conference - all from the Xperia line, which was replenished with the gaming smartphone Xperia PLAY already mentioned in our blog , and two completely new smartphones - Xperia neo and Xperia pro.
The first photos, specifications and description - under the cut.
To begin with, a few words about the positioning of models, as Sony Ericsson defines them:
Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro and Xperia Neo are like twin brothers, differing only in form factor and positioning - if neo is more of an entertainment smartphone, then pro is the first large Sony Ericsson with a sliding keyboard since the Xperia X2 (now the title of pro in the Xperia line is still Xperia mini model, but it's smaller).
Sony Ericsson Xperia neo and Xperia pro “key features”:
- Exmor R “backlight” matrix, which allows you to take high quality photos even in low light.
- Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology
- HDMI output
- and all the wealth of Google services for Android, as well as the Android Market app store.
Sony Ericsson Xperia pro is also distinguished by the presence of the Type & Send function, which eliminates the need to first open the application and then print - now you can first type a message and then decide whether to send it to a blog or via SMS. And Office Suite Pro lets you read edit documents.
Sony Ericsson Xperia neo will be delivered in iridescent blue (blue gradient), red and silver, Xperia pro - in black, red and silver.
Specifications
The battery holds talk time - up to 6 hours 55, standby time - up to 430 hours, while listening to music up to 31 hours, watching a video - up to 7 hours 25 minutes.
In normal mode, Xperia PLAY is an Android smartphone that offers everything that we are used to expect from Xperia models, but with an extended gamepad, users find themselves in a new world of exciting mobile games. A cross, two touchpads, two shoulder keys and four “geometric” PlayStation icons are a familiar PlayStation controller in a mobile format:
Qualcomm optimized GHz processor and integrated Adreno GPU graphics processor ensure smooth playback of 3D games at 60 frames per second and web surfing with a minimum charge. The Xperia PLAY battery holds up to 8 hours 25 minutes of talk, up to 425 hours in standby mode, 30 hours 35 minutes of audio, and most importantly - 5 hours 35 minutes in game mode.
Specially for PLAY, Sony Ericsson, in partnership with key publishers in the gaming industry, has prepared about 50 modern games available for download via the Android Market, including Need For Speed by EA, Sims 3 and the world's first multiplayer version of FIFA 10 for mobile devices. Preparing to release Guitar Hero from GLU Mobile / Activision, and Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell from Gameloft.
This is important news for the entire industry - in fact, Sony Ericsson is creating an entire ecosystem around its new product, and the company has already become the first in this niche - but there is no doubt that competitors will soon follow the leader.
Specifications
Coloring options Xperia PLAY two - black and white.
Detailed information on new products, as well as detailed reviews and comparative tests in this blog will follow.
