The information that Google refuses support of H.264
caused a violent reaction on Habrahabr. Well, the story goes on: the empire strikes back! To guess the
plug-in for Firefox , Microsoft also
released an extension for Chrome. They motivate their actions with the desire "to provide
windows users with the opportunity to enjoy all the content that can be found on the Internet, including video in H.264." You can install the extension at
this link . I tried, the flight seems to be normal. The CPU load is within reasonable limits, the overall feeling is positive. Under the cut a couple of screenshots.

Interestingly, on the latest Canary Build, H.264 support on
html5test shown without a plugin, although the video doesn’t actually play.
