Dell intends to buy Compellent Technologies

Moreover, the value of this transaction can reach almost a billion dollars - currently it is a sum of 900 million US dollars. This is a slightly lower price, which is now the exception rather than the rules. Currently, among IT corporations, the norm is overpricing for the startup or company you like.

In some cases, this is not a couple of percent, but several times overpricing (for example, the failed deal between Google and Groupon, where the search giant offered $ 5 billion instead of 1-2 for Groupon). So, the company Compellent Technologies needed Dell to develop a direction such as data storage.

It is worth noting that in the modern market this sector is extremely relevant, and at the same time several corporations are engaged in the development of new solutions in the field of data storage, mainly corporate solutions. So, Dell’s competitors in the industry now include companies such as IBM and HP. The latter recently bought 3Par, which Dell itself also claimed. HP just offered a large sum, and now Dell has to look for a replacement for a failed purchase.

Currently, the transaction between Dell and Compellent Technologies is in the final stages, so most likely we will soon hear about the completion of the purchase and see the new solutions offered by Dell. At least, this all goes.

The management of Dell believes that the deal with Compellent Technologies is a logical continuation of the development of both companies, and as a result, Dell will be able to offer unique products that will help the corporate segment increase the reliability of storage of large data arrays. In principle, nothing is being said about the new solutions - and it’s too early to say anything, because the deal did not take place.
