Android 2.2 finally overtakes 2.1

According to the just released statistics on Android Developers, Android 2.2 has finally overtaken 2.1.
2.2 is now used by 43.4% of all android devices, while the share of 2.1 is almost 4% less - 39.6%. The total share of 2.1 and 2.2 is 83%. The shares of Android 1.5 and 1.6 continue to decline, they have 6.3% and 10.6%, respectively.
Of course, we are already on the verge of yet another version of Android - 2.3, although no one knows the exact release date. But even after that, it will probably take several months before it appears on most phones. And we can hope for an early complete disappearance of 1.5 and 1.6.
