New HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z
Just in London, HTC introduced two new Desire Android smartphones: Desire HD and Desire Z, but NOMOBILE.RU has already managed to touch them!
Desire HD is a thin Android smartphone with a 4.3 '' screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, packed in a metal “unibody” case. Together with the new chipset (Qualcomm 8255) - a new one, made by 45 nanometer process technology, a CPU with a frequency of 1 GHz. RAM on board - 768 MB. The camera - 8 megapixels, records video in HD 720p with a frequency of 30 frames per second.
I did not disappoint, and soft kit. Firstly, everything works on the latest version of Android 2.2. Secondly, Dolby Mobile 5.1 is supported and Xvid codecs are added. Third and most interesting, the new version of the Sense interface is 2.0. They promise a lot of new chips, but which ones are still a secret. We find out - we will immediately inform you.
Desire Z is not a side slider - the design is new, we have not seen this before. The top panel does not move sideways, but leans back. Due to this, firstly, it was possible to make the case very thin (for a keyboardist!), And, secondly, to remove almost all the backlashes.
The screen of the gadget is 3.7 '' diagonal, capacitive, made using Super LCD technology, its resolution is 800 x 480 pixels. The camera is five megapixel, it writes video in 720p at 30 frames per second. The device runs on the new Qualcomm 7230 chipset, has a processor with a frequency of 800 MHz.
You can immediately see that this smartphone has the most convenient hardware QWERTY-keyboard of all that is currently in Android smartphones. The keys, of course, are only 4 rows, but they are large and well spaced (there are even two programmable ones). I would like to hope that Russification does not disappoint. Front panel navigation joystick - touch.
Sense 1.6 is the same shell as Desire, but new applications and utilities like the file manager, office document editor, proprietary navigation program and codec pack for playing AVI video have been added. Well, the most interesting thing is the ability to remotely control the gadget. You can connect to the smartphone from a remote computer, change its settings or, for example, leave a message if the device was lost or stolen.
For dessert, some live photos of Desire Z and HD. In the frame for comparison: Motorola Milestone and Apple iPhone 4:
