Playnatic report from ChinaJoy 2010 and China GDC

Big country - a big exhibition!

Anyone who believes that South Korea is the No. 1 online gaming market in the world and its position is unshakable is deeply mistaken. Celestial has done all on this front, which even the Koreans themselves reluctantly admit. The achievements of the Chinese gaming industry were clearly demonstrated by the exhibitions ChinaJoy and China GDC , held in Shanghai from July 29 to August 1.

ChinaJoy has deployed as many as 4 pavilions, 90% of the area occupied by Chinese companies, where local giants such as Shanda Games , Tencent and Giant occupied a special place. One of these companies has become famous for its registration base of more than 1 billion users and PCCU at the level of 1 million players. Even if Chinese comrades are a little exaggerating, the scale of their activities cannot but impress. However, smaller companies also try to keep up with senior comrades and demonstrate results that make Russian colleagues enviously sigh.

The eternal Chinese problem - the shortage of usable space, has not spared ChinaJoy . Despite, as already mentioned, the 4 huge pavilions reserved for the exhibition did not have a place for a business zone and 3 conferences that moved to one of the business centers nearby and the participants had to get to them by taxi. However, 15 minutes are mere trifles by the standards of Chinese megacities.

Company Playnatic Entertainment with its own stand participated in the ChinaJoy , and in China the GDC , where the above-mentioned Chinese giants, their countrymen and a small group of foreign companies presented their projects to colleagues and business partners. Representatives of Playnatic Entertainment , the head of the international direction Inna Moroz and producer Ivan Moroz demonstrated to foreign partners the games KillSkill , Elements of War , Montiquest and games for social networks in order to find worthy partners for publishing these projects in the rapidly growing Asian market.

Most of the meetings were planned in advance, which made them as efficient as possible and negotiated in areas of interest to both parties. In total for both exhibitions, Playnatic Entertainment employees met with representatives of 30 companies, of which 80% were Chinese. The remaining 20% are representatives of Southeast Asia and several European and North American publishers, who were pleased with the large colorful stands. The stands impressed by the largest European companies Gamigo and Gameforge made the greatest impression .
