Today, velcom operator announced that from Monday it will begin selling Android-smartphones at attractive prices. Initially, users will be offered Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Xperia X10 mini and Vivaz Pro devices, a bit later - HTC devices.
The cost of the Xperia X10 will be about 1 million 900 thousand Belarusian rubles ($ 638.65), which is lower than the market value.
Let me remind you that Life :) Belarus already has a similar promotion, they offer the Android smartphone Huawei U8230. Its price is 899,000 Belarusian rubles ($ 302.2), taking into account monthly traffic of 750 MB per year.
Velcom also announced the launch of an open competition for developers of applications for mobile devices with the Android operating system.
The winners of the velcom Android Belarus contest are awaiting the following prizes:
1st place- 21,000,000 Belarusian rubles ($ 7058.8) (including taxes)
2nd place - 15,000,000 Belarusian rubles (5,042 $) (including taxes)
3rd place - 9,000,000 Belarusian rubles (3,025.2 $) (including taxes)
4 place - 5 smartphones (Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini and HTC Hero)
To participate, you must register on the site android.velcom.by and within the specified time to develop an Android application in accordance with the rules of the competition.
The competition starts on August 1, and the results will be announced on November 20.
