Today I upgraded to version 6.0.472.0 dev and the first thing I noticed was the web application icon. (which, you see for yourself !!!)
Anticipating something enchanting, after 3 seconds of deliberation, clicked on the shortcut, but I was thrown at chrome.google.com/extensions?hl=en
