Hewlett-Packard's PALMPAD trademark application found on the US Patent and Trademark Office website :
The application states that the name can be used to identify computers, computer hardware, software, computer peripherals, laptops, handheld and mobile computers, PDAs, electronic notepads, mobile digital electronic devices.
However, judging by the name, the PALMPAD trademark will be used for tablets. And since HP recently announced the imminent release of various devices on webOS, it is obvious that we should expect an early release of tablets on webOS. And judging by the cessation of tablet development on Windows 7 and the abandonment of plans with Android, HP will focus on webOS as the operating system for its portable devices.
