An overview of useful plugins for FL Studio. Part 1: Rock Guitar
FL Studio (formerly Fruity Loops) is a popular music sequencing editor created by programmer Didier Dambren, who has been developing this program for eight years, and is produced by Image-Line Software. Music is created by recording and mixing audio or MIDI material.
Hello, dear residents of the habrasociety.
This is a short overview of useful plugins for FL Studio for writing rock music. And how to make the sound of guitars or drums more realistic.
In the current review, briefly about what plugins and tools can be used to write electric guitars, rock guitars with processors, as well as a little about how to set it all up for a start.
Guitar (Realstrat + Guitar Rig)
You can of course use the built-in Slayer or Slayer2 plugin to record rock guitars, but the sound they get is not very impressive. And there’s a great alternative to Slayer, this is a Realstrat virtual VST electric guitar sound modeling tool.
When writing a realistic rock guitar, the Realstrat bunch and the Slayer2_FX effect superimposed on it or the Guitar Rig virtual guitar processor are used (we will talk about it later). To use various guitar tricks (Bend, Mute, Scrapes, etc.) on Realstrat, you can use effects, in the plugin you can switch effects using the Key Switches KS keys . Figure 1 - 1.You also need to configure the channel through which our Channel Settings tool will be displayed . Figure 1 - 2 in order to be able to tune each instrument individually. Now in the Mixer. Figure 1 - 3 on the channel with the guitar instrument, you need to select the effect of Guitar Rig 4. Figure 1 - 4.
Figure 1:
In Guitar Rig, select the processor that we need.
In Key Switches KS setup example. Figure 2 set up the keys to use the guitar tricks we need.
Figure 2:
Here the effect corresponds to the keys in the Piano Roll, for example, D1 BridgeMute is D3 in the Piano Roll, C # 1 Interval is C # 3 in the Piano Roll, etc. The right effects are at the bottom (at the beginning), and the left are at the higher (at the end).
Now about the effects themselves:
- BridgeMute - muting strings.
- SlideDown - descent along the strings.
- SlideUp - rise (similar to the previous one).
- Scrapes - for realism, squeaks, rattle on the guitar, etc.
- Bend - a lift, raising a note at a certain interval.
- Interval - the use of various octaves, reefs, etc.
If you omitted something or you have questions, I will be happy to answer them.
Continuation: Bass guitar and Drums.
