Extension cords. Evolution
Sound, image, light, data ... Far from always we manage to reach the right place with standard means or connect the right number of devices to one source.
Tee, extension cord, splitter, hub ... All this appears as soon as a new signal source appears. Round, square, beautiful, reliable, most of the characteristics remain the same, but there are individual individuals evolving in their development. I will tell you about the most interesting of them that I met.
I immediately warn that I will not consider UPS and network equipment, since this is too serious, but I wanted to show the most interesting. We also exclude various wireless solutions from the review, otherwise no one will reach the end.
So:
Sometimes straight and strict lines do not contribute to the successful connection of all the necessary devices, and here adaptability becomes an exclusively evolutionary step in development. Meet the Pivot Power
This category includes a whole class of devices for transmitting certain types of signals for communications, which are by no means intended.
I think it’s enough to list the types of such devices:
All these devices differ in that they are paired and must be located on both sides of the transmission medium.
Whether they are useful is certainly. I happened to try all three types of devices. When performing certain tasks, you just can not do without them.
Electricity is an extremely dangerous thing, so any attempt to improve safety is great. Well, when it comes to throwing the extension cord into the aquarium and continuing to work, safely connecting and disconnecting electrical appliances, there are no words left ... Impressive.
It is hoped that over time these technologies will become truly universally used.
I know that this has already flickered on the hub, but since I am doing a general review, I decided that it should be added too.
Infinite extension cord from Soon Mo Kang . There were more or less similar things, but this one became one of the most prominent representatives of modern design trends. The technical side remains in doubt, but the aesthetic confidently attracts attention.
I don’t even know what to call this beast “USB controlled power strip”. Not quite in Russian, but still "USB-controlled surge protector." The dream of the greens who want electricity to be minimized or not wasted at all. What can this semblance of a “smart home” know? Disconnect and turn on at the right time (programmed using special software) 4 of 6 connectors (although there are only four in the photographs). In general, that’s all ... True, the manufacturer says that this is done very conveniently and you can program a bunch of events, including very complex ones (like when you start a Word, the connector will plug in where the printer is stuck). Personally, it’s difficult for me to assess the degree of electricity savings in this case, compared to the energy-saving technologies built into the peripheral devices themselves. If it was like a regular filter, you could take it for fun, manufacturer’s website no.
Out of competition: The
first wireless chargers appeared. We are all waiting for all of our devices to become compatible and we simply don’t need all these extension cords ... We look forward to it, but for now we look at the AirVolt Wireless Phone Charger
And finally, a bit of embellishment:
Studio Manzano is a French design studio whose ideas easy enough to realize in life and on your own, so just a link and just pictures.

So:
Nomination "the most dodgy."

Nomination "the most cunning."
This category includes a whole class of devices for transmitting certain types of signals for communications, which are by no means intended.
I think it’s enough to list the types of such devices:
- USB Extenders via Ethernet
- Ethernet “extension cords” (no need to find fault with this word in this place, please, because the essence of the matter is exactly this) through the power network
- PoE, i.e. electrical extension cords over Ethernet
All these devices differ in that they are paired and must be located on both sides of the transmission medium.
Whether they are useful is certainly. I happened to try all three types of devices. When performing certain tasks, you just can not do without them.
Nomination "the safest".

Nomination "the most fashionable."

Nomination "incomprehensible, but green"
