Kin Launch Party Costs More Than Revenue From Their Sale

As you know , the production of Kin smartphones is discontinued. This was announced by Microsoft on June 30 - 48 days after the start of their sale in the United States.

Jay Yarou writes that one of the Microsoft employees admitted: the Kin launch party cost more than the revenue from their sale.
We tried to make a fuss, but in the end - a huge failure.

And John Gruber writes , citing a reliable source (“a well-placed little birdie”) that a total of 503 copies of Kin were sold.

UPD: they write to pocketnow.com (thanks to z0mbie for the link) that 8,810 people use the Facebook application for Kin, so the Gruger 503 are not true. Although it is clear that the number of copies sold below ten thousand is in any case sad.

UPD 2: Gruber admitted that "it means my little birdie was wrong about Microsoft only having sold 503 units," although he is "not convinced this Facebook stay is meaningful."
