Motorola Droid - The Most Popular Android Device
According to AdMob, a mobile advertising company, Motorola Droid is the most popular Android device. It is followed by HTC Hero, and Google Nexus One is in tenth place in popularity.
The data is based on statistics from 12.7 million Android devices on the AdMob network in May. Therefore, HTC Evo, released in the first week of June, was not taken into account in statistics.
About 21% of Android users use Motorola Droid, 16% use HTC Hero, and only 2% use Google Nexus One.
Motorola launched the Droid in November 2009 and made it available through Verizon Wireless. And despite the many Android devices coming out every month, the Droid is still popular.
The only phone that can withstand Droid positions is the HTC Evo. But it is available through Sprint, which has fewer subscribers and a lower marketing budget than Verizon.
Here is the statistics for the ten most popular devices:

AdMob notes that now more than 67% of Android users are users from North America, and the second largest market is China, whose users account for 13%.
Together, HTC and Motorola occupy 83% of the market for all Android devices. Motorola unveiled its eleventh Android phone, the Droid X, last week, while HTC launched the Evo in June, the first and only 4G phone.
