Apple iPhone 4 officially introduced
Today at the Apple conference for developers, iPhone 4 was officially presented. “IPhone 4 is Smarter, Better, Faster,” Steve said from the stage and turned out to be right. The appearance of the novelty did not become a surprise for us - it is exactly the same as the previously leaked prototypes .
The novelty works under the control of System-On-Chip Apple A4, which is installed on the Apple iPad. iPhone 4 boasts a powerful 1 GHz Cortex A8 architecture ARM processor, Power SGX video accelerator and 256 MB RAM, WiFi 802.11n, as well as an excellent Retina Display technology that can display 326 pixels per inch. This is more than the human eye is capable of perceiving!
iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash (with the ability to record HD-video), a front camera and a microSIM slot. Why microSIM? Steve simply answered “We needed the space!”. The iPhone 4 has a noise reduction function through the use of two microphones. Apparently the experience of the Nexus One was useful.
The front of the iPhone 4 is made entirely of mineral glass, and the back is made of ceramic material that does not interfere with the passage of radio waves. The side frame is made of steel. The thickness of the smartphone is only 9.3 mm.
Thus, the new iPhone 4 looks from the inside: the
IPS-display of the new iPhone displays 960x640 pixels and has 4 times more contrast. A few pictures showing the advantage of Retina Display over the regular iPhone TFT display:
It seems that the Apple’s built-in accelerometer was not enough, that's why the new iPhone 4 has a gyroscope built in, which together with the compass allows you to control up to 6 directions of movement:
It is planned to release models with built-in 16, 32 GB memory. The new product will be running iOS 4. The deadline for sale is June 24th. In the US, the iPhone will be distributed with an AT&T contract for $ 199 for a 16 GB model, and $ 299 for 32 GB.
