Android 2.2. Use experience
I will not dwell on all the well-known statements "5 times faster!", "Full flash!", Etc.
I will tell you about the little things that I noticed after 10 hours of use.
So far this is all that has been noticed. I will update as new pluses and minuses are found
I will tell you about the little things that I noticed after 10 hours of use.
- They added a native Russian keyboard, the language is switched by swipe in a space, the three-line layout (not counting the line with a space and controls), "b" is absent, alternative characters by holding the button (like on Smart keyboard and HTC keyboard) are not available
- An indicator strip appeared in the camera with quick access to the settings (the sidebar with the settings used to come out before)
- In contacts, the scrollbar began to scroll in Russian letters, this was very lacking in 2.1 and was solved only by third-party programs / firmware
- My favorite Seesmic twitter client stopped connecting (the problem was solved by deleting the account settings and re-creating with the “use secure connection” option disabled).
- Twitter native client is now integrated into firmware
- None of the applications can be transferred to the SD card yet (for the transfer it is necessary that the developers include this option in their applications
- With a flash, some sites have become noticeably slower to scroll (the flash is placed from the market, or clicks on any flash element in the browser), it is possible to configure the inclusion of a flash when clicking on an element, but it does not help much if the site is overloaded with a flash
- During use, the browser crashed 6 times, which has never happened on 2.1, which is hard to say because in 3 cases the flash was disabled
- The yxflash player does not work, the only player that somehow played avi files on the Nexus One, at the moment it can not be found on the market with firmware 2.2
- SMS Unread Count application does not work, according to messages of other users, most applications working with SMS also refuse to work
- SMS and GoogleTolk applications are now in a light range that is somewhat unusual, there seems to be no possibility to choose an old dark skin (it looks rather strange since contacts, etc. remained dark, this violates the feeling of integrity and uniformity of the interface)
- Gmail applications got the opportunity to use copy / paste, there are minor interface changes, it felt better to look
- The “sheet” with the list of all applications has changed slightly, the names of applications are now not cropped (at least those two-line ones that were previously cropped, I don’t have a single three-line name, some names from one word that used to be transferred to another line are now single-line), special effect the scroll that goes to infinity at the bottom was slightly stretched (it used to be similar to the top, now it’s placed not two rows of icons, but four)
- Trackball backlighting is now multi-colored on a non-rutted phone (blue when noticed by twitdroid)
So far this is all that has been noticed. I will update as new pluses and minuses are found
