Google allows publishers to charge for news
Google has announced a change in feature that allows magazines and newspapers and owners of other sites to charge for reading their material found using Google or hosted on the Google News news service.
A feature called First Click Free allows users to view only five content for free. First Click Free does not connect automatically - this requires a solution from the owner of the resource. After viewing five articles, the user will have to pay for further reading or register.
A Google message came soon after media mogul Rupert Murdochseveral times announced its intention to charge a fee for access to online versions of its publications and, in particular, to remove their materials from the Google News service. Whether he will use the new service is still unknown.
In addition, the Financial Times wrote in early November that Microsoft was in talks with Murdoch. The corporation allegedly offered the media mogul a fee both for the right to use the materials of its media on their sites and for the removal of these materials from the Google index.
