Laptop Reliability Statistics
SquareTrade, an electronics repair and maintenance company, has released notebook reliability statistics . Statistics are collected on a sample of 30,000 laptops purchased by SquareTrade customers.
It turned out that almost every third laptop crashes in the first three years of operation. In this sense, it is difficult to imagine a more fragile device than a laptop (imagine if every third TV or car breaks down in the first three years of operation).

Asus and Toshiba laptops are recognized as the most reliable, although the failure rate of 15.6% and 15.7% is clearly not the limit of perfection, but the percentage of the outsider of the HP rating is off-scale.

On the second graph, the numbers are less than on the first, because failures due to the human factor, i.e. accidental damage, were not taken into account.
The chances of survival of the laptop are highly dependent on build quality. Obviously, the same factor affects the price of the device. It is logical that the least reliable netbooks are made from cheap components.

Finally, we present the failure schedule in the first year of operation, monthly.
