The asteroid almost touched the earth

They tell us that the sky is monitored and constantly monitored by thousands of objects, but this is what is happening before our eyes.

On November 6, 2009, an asteroid with a diameter of about 7 meters flew at a distance of 14,000 km from the Earth. Astronomers noticed it only 15 hours before the minimum distance was reached . November 6 at about 16:30 EST (according to estimates 0:30 the next day in Moscow) a 7-meter asteroid, later called "2009 VA", approached the Earth at a distance of approximately equal to its two radii. It can be seen from the picture that the asteroid flew inside the orbit of the moon, that is, by cosmic standards, generally nearby.

This incident is considered the third most dangerous collision.

Prior to that, there was a meter asteroid 2008 TS26, which flew at a distance of 6150 km from the earth's surface on October 09, 2008 and a 7-meter asteroid 2004 FU162, which flew at a distance of 6535 km from the earth on March 31, 2004.
