qutIM 0.2. The release is ready!
In honor of Halloween, we want to congratulate you all and present you the new version of the qutIM messenger!
More than a year has already passed since the beginning of the development of version 0.2, during this year we met with many difficulties, there were problems with the servers, there was a lack of developers (and perhaps this problem still remains), there was and is a lack (more precisely, the complete absence) of designers. Before us, from time to time, we had a choice - to use common technologies or to bet on dark horses - for a long time we decided between iris, which had already established itself in such clients as Psi and Kopete, and the little-known gloox, which turned out to be a more promising development.
qutIM is a young, promising and free multi-protocol client for real-time communication. Starting with version 0.1.1, the kernel has been completely rewritten, the implementation of the ICQ protocol has undergone numerous changes and has been moved to a separate plugin, support has been added for many other protocols, so now qutIM officially supports the following protocols:

In addition, due to the plugins, Kutim is also integrated into various working environments:

- HistoryManager easily and quickly converts your story from other common clients: QIP, Miranda, Pidgin, Kopete, Gajim, Psi and many others!
- PlugMan allows you to easily put additional themes, sets of emoticons, including koloboks so loved by everyone, sound themes and other small utilities that help make qutIM more beautiful
- Yandex.Narod uploads files to Yandex.Disk and passes the link to the other party, which is noteworthy - this way files can be sent to users offline. In addition, you can manage already downloaded files.

In addition, due to the plugins, Kutim is also integrated into various working environments:
- KDE - kde-integration plugin
- Windows 7 - aero theme and w7i plugin
- Gnome - Libnotify Plugin
- MacOS X - GrowlNotification Plugin

In addition to the above, many other interesting and diverse plugins were written, the most remarkable of them:
- Urlpreview - displays images by links directly in the chat window
- TeX - allows you to exchange various formulas with tex markup
- ImagePub - allows you to share images through various hosting
- Mass Messaging - allows you to send messages to the entire contact list or individual contacts / groups at once
- And many others!

- Multiple bug fixes
- Crashes with GNUTLS, connection problems with OpenSSL and random segfolts with SChannel fixed
- More ergonomic settings window
- Transition from binary history format to Json
Attention! If you have not used the Json history plugin before , then you should use History Manager to convert the story into a new format.
