Tilera announces 100-core server processors

Tilera has announced a family of server processors of its own design. The peculiarity of these CPUs is that the family will include four models equipped with 16, 32, 64 and 100 cores.

TILE-Gx are produced using 40-nm technology, have a frequency of 1.5 GHz and a reduced power consumption ratio: from 5 W for the 16-core version, up to 55 W for the stand-up.

The estimated price of new items is from $ 400 to $ 1,000 apiece (for bulk orders). Deliveries of the 16-core model will begin in the spring of 2010. The 100-core TILE-Gx server processor will hit the market in 2011.
