Apple returns to using Twitter to promote content from the iTunes Store

As a company that has been evading social media for quite some time, Apple has taken over Twitter to promote new content on the iTunes store.

As TechCrunch originally reported , Apple recently signed up with several Twitter accounts to advertise music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts on iTunes. The company from Cupertino opened its first account, iTunesTrailer , back in March, which now has about 1.2 million subscribers.

New iTunesMusic , iTunesMovies , iTunesTV, and iTunesPodcasts accounts contain just a few posts and have thousands of subscribers.

Apple also made cross-publicity in their accounts using the background on which iTunes-related accounts are advertised. Visitors are also asked to support the project on the iTunes fan page on the Facebook social network.

Earlier this year, there were rumors that Apple might be interested in acquiring Twitter . However, rumors still do not cease to be rumors.
