    Opera Mini confirms the title of the most popular mobile browser in the world: in August of this year the number of its users exceeded 31.9 million, which is almost 10% more than in July. Thus, every second during August Opera Mini became at least one more user. These data are contained in the Report of the Opera company on the status of the mobile Internet.

    General Information of the Report
    - In August 2009, Opera Mini browser was used by more than 31.9 million people - 9.9% more than in July and 147% more than in August 2008.

    - 31.9 million users per month viewed over 13.9 billion pages, which is 15.7% more than the result of July and 234% - the result of August last year.

    - Opera Mini users have downloaded about 209 million MB of data to their mobile phones. Thus, the July result is exceeded by 11.7%, and compared with August 2008, traffic increased by 222%. Opera Mini allows you to compress data up to 90%. If the information had not been compressed, users would have to download a total of 1.9 petabytes of data onto their mobile phones.

    - The composition of the dozens of the largest regions using Opera Mini in August included (in descending order): Russia, Indonesia, India, China, Ukraine, South Africa, USA, Nigeria, Great Britain and Poland.

    - Vietnam occupies the 11th position, where the number of users in August grew by 20%. In addition, in the near future, the Philippines, Kenya and France may possibly enter the Top 10 largest regions using Opera Mini.

    - The rating of countries with the largest relative increase in Opera Mini users compared to July (from the Top 30 browser usage regions) was as follows: Australia (52% increase), Georgia (34%), Vietnam (20%), Kenya (19%) , France (16%), Philippines (15%), Brazil (14%), Kazakhstan (13%), Pakistan (11%) and Malaysia (10%).

    - A dozen European countries in terms of the number of Opera Mini users, excluding the regions appearing in the Top 10 global list, include (in descending order): Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Turkey, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Lithuania and Romania. Turkey leads in the relative growth of new users - in this country it amounted to 218.8% compared to August last year. Turkey is followed by France with an indicator of 100.7% per year and the Czech Republic with 72.2%.

    - Russia remains the largest consumer of Opera Mini. Over the year, the number of browser users in the country increased by 57.3%, and the number of web pages viewed by them increased by 125.3%. On average, each user viewed 411 web pages per month.
