The function of hiding the minus comments is practically of no use. Practice shows that comments thrown by a large number of tomatoes cause no less interest than thrown by bouquets (this is affected by the imperfection of the triple [+, 0, -] evaluation, when among the “drowned” one can find ordinary trolls and people who are not interested in anyone who expressed a point of view perpendicular to most, no matter how interesting it may be). As a result, the only effect of this function is an extra click.
As an improvement to this idea, I propose to use this approach: hide only those comments that have no answers, or in the child branches of which all comments are also affected. Thus, it will be possible to somehow cut off trolls from people with a peculiar opinion, or from more advanced trolls. :)
Such a system can be called correctly working, even if the troll’s comment was not hidden due to the fact that someone responded with a cut and grabbed the pluses, in which case you would still have to watch the troll’s comment to understand the joke.
