Adium 1.4 beta 1 quietly came out, previously the client could be assembled from Svn.
There are many innovations, the most significant of them:
A new more stable engine, IRC channels, the ability to send messages to Twitter, a new search for contacts, the client works only in Mac OS 10.5 and future 10.6.
Support 10.4 is discontinued.
