Microsoft Web Platform Installer, or how to install PHP on IIS 7

It became necessary for me to install PHP on IIS7. Before, I remember when I already had to install php, though on IIS version 5.1 (which is bundled with XP) - that was the whole point. To install, screw something up with my hands, then it turned out that some kind of library was of the wrong version, I had to look for one - well, in general, it’s good that there was a good manual found then. There are plenty of them now, there’s even a screencast .
At the moment, everything turned out to be even simpler. Download Microsoft Web Platform Installer 2.0(written - it weighs about 1 megabyte, now in beta). There we select the necessary components, you can choose the URL Rewrite, and SQL Server 2008, and ASP.NET MVC 1.0, and even all sorts of various engines of blogs, site designers, such as DotNetNuke. Here is a window, only of what is offered from the new: I chose all the interesting things for myself. Everything was delivered, except for PHP :). I don’t know why it didn’t download from me, but the Web Platform Installer provides a detailed error log in which I just found a link where to download php for IIS from - I downloaded it, installed it and it worked.
