Kindle Opened to All Blogs
One of the interesting features of the new Kindle is a blog subscription , that is, an “electronic reader” can be used as a regular RSS reader. Unfortunately, this functionality is paid, but even a paid subscription makes sense for those who are "hooked" on the Kindle and at the same time are a regular reader of one or two frequently updated blogs. Why only one or two? Because each blog subscription is sold separately (usually $ 1.99 per month), and only a millionaire can afford to pull a thousand or two RSS feeds.
Until today, you could only subscribe to selected blogs that are included in the official catalog on Amazon. This was the main limiting factor, but yesterday everything changed with the launch of Kindle Publishing for Blogs Beta. Now absolutely any blog can get into the catalog. It is enough to register the feed URL, and within 12-48 hours it will be formatted for the Kindle and it will become available for subscription. Amazon will set the cost of the subscription on its own according to criteria she knows only, and the author of the blog can claim 30% of the revenue received by the company.
Distributing content for free through the Kindle is prohibited; there are no such blogs in the catalog.
