How-to`s - One Thunderbird on two OS

    I wanted to share advice if anyone else does not know how to use one of the same mail base on two operating systems. I have Ubuntu 9.04 and Windows XP, and mail has been a stumbling block for a long time, I just can’t switch to Linux yet, but I still want to use it fully functional. In the end, it was decided to abandon The Bat! towards the multi-platform Thunderbird. But this is also not enough, you need to make it work with the same boxes from under both systems. For this we need:
    Mozilla Thunderbird installed on both systems of the same version.
    A third-party disk partition that is visible from both Linux and Windows.
    If this is not possible, you can use the section where Windows is installed (not the best option)

    So let's say we already have Thunderbird with the configured box (s) in XP. In Linux,
    go to the Windows partition in the folder C: \ Documents and Settings \ user \ Application Data \ Thunderbird \ Profiles there we see a folder of the form xxxxxxx.default. Copy it to the third section in a convenient folder. In the same place, in the folder C: \ Documents and Settings \ user \ Application Data \ Thunderbird in the profiles.ini file, change the value of IsRelative to 0, we get:
    IsRelative = 0
    in the Path parameter, enter the path where the database was copied, for example, I have
    Path = f: \ TBdaten \ mdt8v2k2.default
    do the same in Linux, where profiles.ini is located in /home/user/.mozilla-thunderbird. Change IsRelative to 0 and Path to the corresponding one. I have
    Path = / media / daten / TBdaten / mdt8v2k2.default

    Actually everything I

    thought that it might come in handy for someone, that's why it was laid out, honestly copied from welinux.ru
