First add-ons available
Google, as promised, includes support for add-ons for its browser.
Recently, documentation for developers has been published , and now examples of additions.
There are three of them: Gmail Checker, Subscribe in Google Reader and BuildBot Monitor. I tried Gmail Checker.
How to install?
1. For this you need Chromium or Dev version of Google Chrome, current (2.0.181.0).
2. Right-click on the shortcut, select Properties and add --enable-extensions to the address chrome.exe .

3. Launch Chrome :)
4. Take add-ons here .
This is what Gmail Checker looks like, at the bottom of the status bar, it shows how the number of new letters in the mail should be.
