QIP - Minute of hatred (history on the server)

In the week (or I just started to receive notifications) QIP launched some kind of crap service called MBlogi . The essence of this service is that the statuses that the user sets up in a pile are posted to this "blog" a la Twitter as separate posts. And this is absolutely unbeknownst to the user. And without a question to me, do I want to receive by mail notifications about new entries in these blogs left by my friends. Which in itself is a rather unscrupulous move and a manifestation of disrespect for users. On the one hand - violation of privacy - I do not want my statuses to shine somewhere, on the other hand, the actual imposition of unnecessary service on me.

Further. Yesterday, or even tonight, the QIP.ru website, forum, blog of the main developer, was defaced. About it on a habr stillactively speak . It was thanks to this discussion that I found out that it turns out qip stores the history of Jabber correspondence on the server. At the same time, as a user of the program, I don’t even suspect this, I don’t see any such settings in the “settings / history” section, and naturally no one asked me if I want to keep my personal correspondence on the server.

Further. There is only one way to remove history from the server - delete by selecting 20 messages in each individual contact. That is, if you like to talk, you will now be deleting for a very long time and hemorrhaging.

And in QIP there is such an option - to authorize you on the site automatically. This means that you are constantly authorized on the qip.ru website and anyone who has sat down on your computer can enter the history and read, even if QIP is turned off and with a password.

It seems that the history storage on the site is not mentioned at all in the program, only on the site itself can it be turned off. At least that's what the line in the menu title says. But this is bad luck - after disabling the preservation of history, it still persists ...
