Review of Cool Dates - a service for announcements of future events
Last week, someone , in his “Event Notification” post , introduced the idea of creating a service notifier for upcoming events. As promised, I prepared a review of such a service.
Cool Dates is a service dedicated to announcements of future events. I have been using it for about 2.5 years.
The service allows you to get acquainted with future events created by registered users. The subject matter is unlimited. It can be: a personal event (the birthday of a neighbor-lover; the date of the upcoming exam in philosophy; the date when I talk “like a man” with a neighbor - my wife’s lover); political events (upcoming elections, debates, etc.); festive events (Foodman Day, Paratrooper Day, etc.); events related to the activities of a company (press releases, event announcements); events related, for example, to the Zemfira band (concerts, upcoming press conferences, the release of a new album); announcements, preparing for release on screens, films; releases of computer games, systems, programs, well, etc.
You can subscribe to events. You can receive email notifications for each selected event, or subscribe to the RSS feed: for new events, for upcoming events, for service blog events and events in groups.
It is possible to place an HTML button-counter of events, for example, on your blog:
“personal” - , the counter of one event and, the third counter, the largest, consists of three nearest events created by yourself or events created by any selected user. You can read more about the counters here , and you can create a counter by clicking on the sign next to the selected event.
It is clear that by registering, you yourself can create your own events, subscribe to them and receive notifications by e-mail. And marking your event as “Public”, users of the service can see it on specified days.
In my unbiased opinion, the service can serve both a personal notification system and a public one, used for commercial purposes, but completely free of charge.
If you have something to add, join.
