Where does Android get 8% of mobile surfing?

In yesterday’s report on Google’s financial results , Eric Schmidt mentioned that 8% of all Internet browsing on mobile phones is now happening on Android phones. The comments went to questions - what about opera, symbian, and so on?

Unfortunately, we were unable to find new statistics on mobile views for free. But there is a graph of mobile operating systems around the world for February :

As you can see, then Android had 6%, slightly less than WM. According to Eric, Android is now in second place. Under Java ME, most likely, most often refers to Opera Mini.

This is not a graph of the number of phones; This is a graph of the number of page views. And as the former owner of Nokia 6110, and now the owner of G1, I can say that the number of page views for me personally has increased tenfold. :)

Some interesting facts from Robert Dotson, T-Mobile USA top manager:

    1. 80 percent of G1 owners go online every day.
    2. 80 percent of G1 owners download applications from the Market at least once a week. On average, each G1 owner has downloaded> 40 applications.
    3. The average G1 user consumes 50 times more mobile traffic than users of other mobile phones.
    4. Most G1 owners use Facebook and YouTube at least once a week.
    5. Half of G1 owners use Wi-Fi daily.
    6. T-Mobile ordered a total of about 1.5 million G1 units.
