Webinar: New ISO 9241-210: Human-centred Design
On April 8, 2009, Dmitry Satin and Andrey Sikorsky held a webinar for developers, Russoft and ISDEF members, dedicated to the release of the new ISO 9241-210 standard: Human-centred Design.
Presentation used at the webinar
According to statistics, the majority of Google searches for “usability” come from India, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Russia is not on the list.
This list is largely the same as the list of countries leading in software development. It turns out that developers from India are interested in usability. I wonder why?
The thing, apparently, is that earlier in IT there was a pursuit of hardware performance, then the functionality of software. Now, the competition has shifted to the field of user qualities - usability.
This year, voting began (it will end in April) according to the new ISO standard - the International Organization for Standardization. Previously, the standard was called user centred design, and now - human centred design. Previously, it was advisory in nature, now it has become mandatory.
