WebResearch vs Mozilla Firefox

For a long time I use the program for cataloging information from mcropool - Web Research (formerly called ContantSever). And everything would be fine, but for some time now my browser started to hang ...

At first I put up (probably six months). But then it bothered me so much that I decided to find the problem without fail. After reading many forums describing the process of finding a buggy plugin for FF, I didn’t come to anything special. All tips come down to the fact that you need to disable one plug-in and see if glitches disappear. I calculated: I have about 20 plugins, so it will take at most 4 reboots. The idea was to turn off half of the add-ons and wait for the glitch. Wait, turn off the remaining half and so on. But for some reason, for several days of such tactics, it did not lead to the expected result, and surfing only bothered me with the lack of half of the plugins. You quickly get used to the good). I thought - you need to look for the problem using the super utility from sysinternals -. Thought - done). I noticed, that the hang occurs at the moment of entering the text in any form. That's better. But now it remains to understand how to deliberately cause a hang. I have not been able to do this for a long time ... But over time, I noticed that the freeze occurs at the moment of entering exclusively the Russian text. Further - a matter of technology, or rather scientific poking). What I've done? Everything is simple. Hung FF, opened inProcessExplorer process firefox.exe and began to kill in it all the flows of the same name, in groups.

Of course I'm sure)). And at one point, the browser came to life! Next - just by looking at the dead thread, I quickly realized what was causing the fox to hang. This is the WRThread module.

    Here it is, Mikhalych! ( C )
However, who would have thought ... Wrote support for WR. They replied that they had thousands of Russian users, but they had never encountered such a problem ... They checked several versions of the occurrence - in vain. We corresponded for two weeks and fell silent ... I wrote about this discovery in one of the forums discussing this program (WR), I found like-minded people). They thanked even for their ingenuity. After this, a new version of both FF and WR has already been released, but freezes remain. Now at least it’s known how to treat. I hope this helps someone!
