Answers on questions

In May, a service starts, which promises to compete with answer search engines. The developer Stephen Wolfram is a British physicist, mathematician and businessman , known to us for the program of computer algebra " Mathematica ". The launch of the resource, according to Stephen himself, will be held in May 2009 . The Wolfram Alpha resource will calculate answers to questions posed in natural language (more on this below). The Wolfram Alpha is based on the Mathematica engine. A logical mechanism is built into it that can draw conclusions, having data and a mathematical model. The mechanism of the response search engine is as follows:

• the data for the answer will be taken from a database of facts (the creation of which Steven Wolfram's team spent several years) and a large number of mathematical models;
• the query language is very similar to English - the system understands brief queries similar to those used by users of ordinary search engines.
• the answer is displayed in the form of charts, tables and graphs (if you enter ″ gdp ″ (GDP), then a graph of the change in GDP of the country where the user is located appears on the screen, but if you enter ″ gdp France / Germany ″, a graph of the ratio of French GDP to German for the same period).

There are more questions than answers, as is usually the case.
