GIMP 2.6.5 (stable version) has been released.
On February 15, the next stable version of GIMP 2.6.5 was released without much ado . The release is dedicated to fixing bugs.
The following is fixed:
Enthusiasts can also evaluate GIMP 2.7.0 (unstable version) and be the first to know what will happen in GIMP 2.8.x.
upd: Assembly 2.6.5 is laid out so far only in the source codes, and 2.7.0 exists in the Windows version. (thanks asci)

The following is fixed:
- when scaling to 25%, the image changed the background color from white to gray
- GtkScaleButton in GIMP conflicted with GtkScaleButton in GTK
- GEGL tool lacked options for sub-tools
- Incorrect RGB values for some colors fixed
- the brush image being moved to the image window did not look right
- the rectangular selection tool did not allow to select a fixed aspect ratio of 1: 1
- the “percent black” parameter in “Photocopies” had no effect on anything
- The first image opened in GIMP was offset
- the alignment tool did not work correctly if it was active when the program started
- updated translations into several languages, including Russian
