Music widgets 9 months later

I reviewed simple music widgets to insert music into my blog in May 2008. In the review I wrote about Muzicons.com, Songza.com, Mixwit.com, Boomp3.com. The fate of widgets is pretty deplorable.

    1. Mixwit.com is a retro cassette. Closed by the American Recording Association (RIAA). They did not like the idea of using music search engines skreemr.com and seeqpod.com. The main reason for this quick closure is that Mixwit is an American startup and the RIAA was the easiest to get to, and most likely Mixwit did not have money for lawyers. With seeqpod.com, the RIAA has also been suing for about a year. Seacpod received an investment of several million dollars during litigation, so he has the means to fight.

    2. Songza.com- global grabber. Most of the tracks were played from videos posted on youtube.com. Owners of youtube.com did not like this alignment - traffic is growing, and the end user does not even assume that the sound comes not from songza.com, but from Youtube. As a result, Youtube was obliged to show a small video when losing any song. This killed the songza.com widget, because when inserting into a blog, it would be necessary to insert a video to the player “in the load”.

    3. BooMP3.com - ultra compact.

I did not understand what was going on here. How to upload or choose music to embed on your blog? Probably not the best of times.

    4. Muzicons.com - is still alive.

In general, my review of music widgets is outdated and rendered useless. I am making a new one and collecting links to interesting services.
