Microsoft computer without a mouse and keyboard

Microsoft has introduced a new touch-sensitive Surface computer in the form of a coffee table.

The main innovation is the lack of a traditional mouse and keyboard. Instead, users control the computer by touching its surface with their fingers or, for example, with a brush.

Unlike most touch screens, Surface can respond to more than one touch per unit of time. According to the developers, the computer will be able to respond to the simultaneous contact of several people at once.

Under the touch surface of the computer are five cameras that can scan closely spaced objects. With their help, the computer reads barcodes printed on ordinary objects.

According to the Associated Press, one of the first Surface models should appear in the stores of the mobile operator T-Mobile to help customers choose mobile phones: the computer, in particular, will read the barcode of the phone and give all the information about it.

In addition, customers will be able to choose a tariff plan and ringtones, “dragging” them on the touch screen of the computer to the phone.

    Up to 10 thousand dollars

According to Microsoft, initially a new computer will be delivered to corporate customers, including hotels, casinos, shops selling phones and restaurants.

The initial price of the Surface with a 30-inch (76 cm) screen will be 5-10 thousand dollars. The company claims that in the next three to five years they intend to begin production of cheaper versions of the touch computer for home use.

Recently, Microsoft has released several new devices that have been widely adopted by the market.

For example, if the Xbox game console was a success, then the Zune music player could not compete with Apple's iPod.
