Palantir Project

A Facebook development team - Jack Lindamood, Kevin Der, and Dan Weatherford - recently started work on the Palantir project. The name of the project comes, apparently, from The Lord of the Rings.



So, a video with the basic capabilities of Palantir has been presented to our court. We see the Earth on which the activity of users of a social network is geographically displayed. After that, our eyes will see the visualization of connections between users. It looks very large. Registered users can watch the video at this link .

Facebook intends to continue work on the project. It reminded me of Twitter TV, where you can see how people from all over the globe tweet. However, it is obvious that the FB of such an interface would not be enough. They and the planet is not enough :)
