Creative Commons launches free image search service



    The Creative Commons organization , which helps to legally share creative materials, launched a beta version of the new search engine CC Search to search for free images.

    “CC Search takes advantage of open storage capabilities, allowing users to search across multiple sources through a single interface. The prototype of the tool focuses on photo content and uses an open API for indexing available works, ” the organization’s website says .

    The service allows you to search for photos on several resources at the same time, including Flickr, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, 500px and the Rijksmuseum (Netherlands National Museum).

    Photo search is available by title, author or tags. Among other things - the ability to save search results for later viewing and add images to your favorites.

    There are currently 9,500,000+ images in the search engine index available to users.
