Opera Mini - 7% in the mobile market
The analytical agency AdMob has published the results of a study of the market of mobile browsers used in mobile phones around the world. It turned out that the top five are as follows:
1. Nokia (original browser from the manufacturer) - 34%
2. Openwave (used in Motorola
handsets ) - 29% 3. Access Netfront (used in Sony Ericsson) - 12%
4. Opera Mini (used on
different handset models) - 7% 5. Teleca-Obigo (different handsets) and Microsoft Mobile Explorer - 4%
each. From these figures we can draw two positive conclusions.
1. Opera Mini is the most popular mobile browser in the world, which in most cases is installed independently by users, and does not go pre-installed on the handsets.
2. By itself, the figure of 7% of the global market is a huge (and, hopefully, not yet final) success for the Norwegian browser, given that its desktop progenitor in the global desktop browser market cannot yet overcome the 1% mark.
