On this occasion, Autodesk posted on its website the history of development, achievements and the fun animated film "Bingo" , thanks to which Maya became famous. But the company was not limited to this and recently announced a new product - Maya 2009 ( Unlimited and Complete ). We are promised updates and improvements to the following modules:

    Maya Fluid Effects ,
    Maya Fur ,
    Maya nCloth ,
    Maya nParticles ,
    Maya Live ,
    Maya Hair .

And in honor of the anniversary a little about the history of creation:

Maya is a symbiosis of three programs: The Advanced Visualizer from Wavefront Technologies in California, Explore from Thomson Digital Image (TDI) in France, and Power Animator from Alias in Canada. The result was Maya 1.0, released in February 1998 for the IRIX operating system, and in June for Windows. Soon, various Maya modules were grouped into 2 packages: Complete and Unlimited. Later, the 3rd product appeared - Maya Builder. By 2001, in line with demand, Maya was also available on Linux and MacOS. Now, 10 years after the first release, Maya continues to improve in products such as Maya 2009.
